Newburgh, N.Y. — The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest to Mount St. Mary College on Saturday afternoon.
Cobleskill's offense was led by Jace Miranda (Fayetteville, NY), who recorded two goals and an assist to pace the Tigers' attack. Rob Staubitz (East Rockaway, NY) added a goal and two assists, while Noah Palange (Pompton Lakes, NJ) and Alex Baker (Guilford, VT) each contributed a goal for Cobleskill.
In goal, James Meier (Guilderland, NY) made nine saves while facing steady pressure from the Knights' offense. At the faceoff X, Dylan Linehan battled throughout the contest to help the Tigers generate additional possessions.
Cobleskill finished the game with 27 shots (11 on goal) while Mount St. Mary recorded 40 shots (17 on goal).
Mount St. Mary opened the game with early momentum, scoring multiple times in the opening quarter while Cobleskill found the net twice to remain within striking distance.
The Knights extended their lead in the second period, but the Tigers responded with a pair of goals to keep the game tied heading into halftime.
Cobleskill continued to battle in the third quarter as the two teams traded goals while pushing the pace offensively.
Mount St. Mary added two goals in the final frame to secure the victory.
