Matt Rote

In the 2019-20 school year Matt Rote was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer after serving as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at SUNY Cobleskill since the Fall of 2017.

Rote is a native of Waverly, N.Y., where he graduated from Waverly High School in 2010.  He went on to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training.  While at Bradford, he played one-year of Men’s Basketball for the Panthers.

After Bradford, he continued his education at SUNY Cortland where he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer.  While at Cortland, he was assigned to Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Field Hockey and Softball during the Fall and Spring seasons, and during the winter season he covered Men’s and Women’s Basketball. 

After he graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2017, he was appointed the Assistant Athletic Trainer position at SUNY Cobleskill.  Besides his primary role of an Assistant Athletic Trainer, Rote served as the Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach in 2018 season and was an Instructor for the Sport and Exercise Department.  Along side his new position as Head Athletic Trainer, Rote will continue to be the Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach and an Instructor.

As an Instructor for the Sport and Exercise Department of SUNY Cobleskill he teaches American Red Cross/First Aid.  He has been an instructor since the 2018-19 school year.
   
Additionally, Rote is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and certified by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers with his New York License.
