Jillian Nitchman ’22 was named Interim Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at SUNY Cobleskill ahead of the 2026 season.

Nitchman moves into the head coaching role after spending the previous four seasons as an assistant coach with the Fighting Tigers. A former Cobleskill student-athlete, she has been part of the women’s volleyball program as both a player and coach and will lead the Tigers into their first season of SUNYAC competition.

During her four seasons as an assistant coach, Nitchman helped guide Cobleskill to four postseason appearances and a North Atlantic Conference West Division title. She also played an important role in the development of the program’s student-athletes, helping eight players earn all-conference honors during her time on staff.

Nitchman was a member of the Cobleskill women’s volleyball program from 2018-22. During her senior season, she helped lead the Fighting Tigers to an appearance in the NAC Championship match and earned a spot on the All-NAC Sportsmanship Team.

In addition to her work with women’s volleyball, Nitchman has served as an assistant coach with the Cobleskill softball program and as the College’s athletics camp coordinator. She was also a member of the Fighting Tiger softball program during her time as a student-athlete.
