Cobleskill, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department has named senior men’s basketball player Chalik Rush (Brooklyn, NY/Graphic Arts) as the Fighting Tiger Athlete of the Week for the period ending December 15, 2024.

Rush delivered a historic defensive performance, tying the program’s Division III record with seven blocks in the Fighting Tigers' 67-58 non-conference victory over Alfred State. Rush came close to a triple-double, contributing nine points, eight rebounds, and seven blocks, while playing a key role in the team setting a new Division III program record with 12 blocks in a single game.

This season, Rush is averaging 7.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks while shooting 42.2 percent from the field.

The Fighting Tigers return to action on January 3 at Russell Sage College with tip-off set for 5:00 p.m.
