Washington, D.C.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team posted a dramatic comeback victory on Saturday afternoon as the Fighting Tigers overcame a 14-point deficit to post a 72-64 upset road win at Gallaudet University in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. The victory extends the Fighting Tigers current winning street to three games and improves their overall record to 4-8 on the year including a 2-2 record in league play while the Bison fall to 7-4 on the with a 3-2 mark versus NEAC competition.
Cobleskill trailed 33-21 at the half and by a 35-21 margin with 19:02 left in regulation. However the Fighting Tigers used a suffocating defensive effort to limit the Bison to only 5-of-14 from the field (35.7%) during the half while forcing the home team into 17 turnovers during the stanza.

Bryan Backus, Walton, N.Y., Walton High School/SUNY Delhi, to score a game tying basket to send the game into overtime at 57-57.
In the extra period the Fighting Tigers took advantage of the Bison's foul situation to outscore their hosts 15-to-7 connecting on 12-of-16 free throw attempts with senior guard
Alexis Nunez, White Plains, N.Y., White Plains High School, scoring seven points in overtime to secure the victory.
Nunez led all scorers with 21 points to go with a team high nine rebounds and three steals while senior forward
Cortrell King, Brentwood, N.Y., Upper Room Christian High School/Suffolk Community College, came off the bench to score 20 points, take down seven rebounds, make three steals and block two shots on the afternoon.
Mike Chapman finished the game with a season high of 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals for the visitors.
The Orange & Black will close out their weekend road trip on Sunday when they travel to Chambersburg, Pa. to face the Phoenix of Wilson College in a NEAC contest beginning at 2:00 p.m.
TIGER NOTES: When senior Alexis Nunez connected on a free throw with 26 seconds left in overtime; the White Plains, N.Y. native became SUNY Cobleskill's first men's basketball player to reach the 1000 point career scoring mark since the program moved to the NCAA level of competition in 2008. He also becomes only the third play in men's program history to reach the 1000 point scoring level and currently ranks third overall in program all-time scoring.
