Chambersburg, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team ended an eight game losing streak on Sunday afternoon with a vengeance as the Fighting Tigers posted a 70-49 win over the host Phoenix of Wilson College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. The victory improves the Cobleskill overall record to 2-8 on the season including a 1-4 mark in conference play while Wilson falls to 1-9 overall including a 0-8 mark in league action.

The Fighting Tigers put the game away early as the visitors scored the first 16 points of the game to jump out to a 16-0 lead on their way to 45-22 lead at the end of the first half. The team's 70 point explosion marked their highest point total of the season to date.

Sophomore forward Shelby Preston, Ravena, N.Y., Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, once again paced the Cobleskill attack with her eighth double/double of the year with 21 points and 16 rebounds to go with six steals and a pair of blocked shots. The Orange & Black also received career high of 18 points from freshman forward Tori Oswald, Thornwood, N.Y., Westlake High School, and 11 points and six rebounds off the bench from freshman guard Annette Hogan, Margaretville, N.Y., Margaretville High School.

Cobleskill will next be in action on Wednesday January 21 when they host the Wildcats of Cazenovia College for a NEAC contest beginning at 5:00 p.m.
