Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team suffered a hard fought 76-65 loss on Wednesday evening to the visiting Wildcats of Cazenovia College at the Iorio Gymnasium in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. The defeat drops the Fighting Tigers to 2-9 overall on the year including a 1-5 mark in conference action while the Wildcats improve to 6-7 overall with a 4-2 record in league play.
The Cobleskill opened the game with one of their best offensive showings of the season taking a 39-37 advantage into half time on the strength of a 4-for-6, 66.7%, three-point shooting effort. However in the second half, 12 Fighting Tiger turnovers led to 22 Wildcat points which proved to be too much for the home team to overcome.
Sophomore forward
Shelby Preston, Ravena, N.Y., Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, continued her strong play with 22 points and 21 rebounds on the evening for her tenth double/double of the season to date. Cobleskill also received 16 points, five rebounds and three from freshman guard
