Box Score Aurora, N.Y.: A poor second half proved costly to the SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team on Sunday as the Fighting Tigers dropped a 5-1 decision to host Wells College on Sunday afternoon in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 1-12 on the year with a 1-7 mark versus league opponents while The Express moves to 6-11 overall including a 5-5 record in NEAC action.
The Fighting Tigers found themselves trailing The Express 1-0 when in the 4
th minute sophomore forward
Morganne Dick, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School, carried the ball into the box and scored unassisted to make it 1-1. The two teams then spent the rest of the half locked in a defensive battle for position and ended with the stanza tied at one a piece.
However the second half painted a totally different picture as The Express scored twice in the opening three minutes of the half to take the lead for good eventually scoring twice more to record the 5-1 league victory.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Saturday October 24
th when they travel to Washington, D.C. to face the Bison of Gallaudet University in NEAC play beginning at 1:00 p.m.
