Women's Soccer Loses 5-1 NEAC Road Decision to Wells College

Second Half Collapse Dooms Fighting Tigers in 5-1 Road Loss at Wells

Box Score
Aurora, N.Y.:  A poor second half proved costly to the SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team on Sunday as the Fighting Tigers dropped a 5-1 decision to host Wells College on Sunday afternoon in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 1-12 on the year with a 1-7 mark versus league opponents while The Express moves to 6-11 overall including a 5-5 record in NEAC action.

The Fighting Tigers found themselves trailing The Express 1-0 when in the 4th minute sophomore forward Morganne Dick, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School, carried the ball into the box and scored unassisted to make it 1-1. The two teams then spent the rest of the half locked in a defensive battle for position and ended with the stanza tied at one a piece.

However the second half painted a totally different picture as The Express scored twice in the opening three minutes of the half to take the lead for good eventually scoring twice more to record the 5-1 league victory.

Cobleskill will next be in action on Saturday October 24th when they travel to Washington, D.C. to face the Bison of Gallaudet University in NEAC play beginning at 1:00 p.m.
