Cortland, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team lost to Ithaca College 93-68 in their final game of the 2015 Contaca Classic hosted by Ithaca College and SUNY Cortland at Cortland's Whitney T. Corey Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 0-4 overall on the season while the Bombers improve to 3-1 overall on the campaign.
The Cobleskill defense had few answers for the Bombers offensive attack as Ithaca converted on 31-of-63, 49.2%, shots from the field including an impressive 11-of-23, 47.8%, from three-point range. The Bombers also worked their way to the foul line 30 times in the contest converting on 20 of those opportunities.
Leading the way for the Orange & Black offensively was junior guard
Ralph Erickson, Melrose, N.Y., La Salle Institute, who hit for a season high 19 points to go with a two assists and a pair of rebounds on the afternoon. The Fighting Tigers also received nine points and six rebounds from junior swingman
Brian Jackson, Bronx, N.Y., Global Enterprise Academy, and nine points, three rebounds and three assists from junior guard Quincy Miller, Brooklyn, N.Y., Lafayette High School/Potomac State College.
For his efforts at the Classic,
Brian Jackson was named to the 2015 All-Tournament Team after averaging 11.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game at the event.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Saturday November 28
th when they travel to Clinton, N.Y. to face host Hamilton College in the opening round of the Hamilton College Tournament with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
