Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team lost in overtime to visiting Wilson College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action by a 74-73 margin on Sunday afternoon at the Iorio Gymnasium. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 1-13 overall on the year with a 1-5 conference record while the Phoenix improve to 3-8 overall including a 2-4 record in league play.
After trailing by as many as 11 points in the second half, the Fighting Tigers rallied from a 66-64 deficit to take the lead at 67-66 on a three point play by sophomore guard
Malik Chambers, West Point, N.Y., James I. O'Neil High School, with 14 seconds left in regulation.
The Phoenix then tied the contest at 67-67 with seven seconds left to play when Wilson sophomore swingman Keion Adams, Gaithersburg, Md., Seneca Valley High School, split a pair of free throws on a call that was highly disputed Cobleskill coaching staff and the home fans.
The home team still had a chance to win with 2.2 seconds left when off an side out-of-bounds play junior center

In the overtime the visitors took the lead at 74-73 on a pair of free throws by junior guard Marquis Nelson, Hagerstown, Md., Edison High School, with only 12 seconds left. At which point the Orange & Black advanced the ball to the front court taking time out with 6.6 seconds left to set up a final play.

Quincey Miller, Brooklyn, N.Y., Lafayette High School/Potomac State College, who attacked the basket off the dribble drawing the Phoenix defense to him in the paint. Miller then passed the ball out to junior swingman
Brian Jackson, Bronx, N.Y., Global Enterprise Academy, whose 18 footer rimmed out at the buzzer giving Wilson the conference victory.
Quincey Miller came off the Fighting Tigers bench once again to post strong numbers with 24 points, four rebounds and three steals while
Brian Jackson added 15 points, seven rebounds and five steals. The home team also received strong efforts from
Malik Chambers with 11 points and four assists and from junior swingman
Frank D'Esti, Vestal, N.Y., Vestal High School/Broome Community College, who had 12 points and five rebounds.
Cobleskill will return to action on Wednesday January 20
th when they travel to Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, N.Y. to face the Wildcats in NEAC action beginning at 5:00 p.m.
