Williamsport, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team continued their winning ways on Saturday by posting a 54-51 win over the host Wildcats of Penn College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) to extend their current winning streak to three games. With the win the Fighting Tigers improve to 6-7 overall including a 5-3 mark in NEAC action while the Wildcats fall to 3-9 overall including a 3-7 conference record.
Cobleskill trailed at the half 24-22 before outscoring their hosts in the third quarter by a 24-7 margin to take a 46-31 lead heading into the final stanza. However the Wildcats clawed their way back into the contest outscoring the visitors 20-8 in the final frame.
The Fighting Tigers used inside muscle to secure the victory as junior forward
Shelby Preston, Ravena, N.Y., Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, posted her ninth double/double on the year with 17 points and 18 rebounds per game while freshman forward
Morgan Bullis, Bainbridge, N.Y., Bainbridge-Guilford High School, scored 13 points, took down nine rebounds and blocked two shots on the afternoon. Senior guard/forward
Ashley Creighton, Catholic Central High School/Schenectady Community College, was also a factor in the victory with 13 points and six rebounds.
With their Sunday game versus the College of Saint Elizabeth cancelled due to the inclement weather that has hit the region; the Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday January 30
th, when they host the Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute beginning at 3:00 p.m.

TIGER NOTES: Â The current Fighting Tigers three-game winning streak is the longest since their longest since the 2012-13 season when they defeated: Wells College at home on February 9th 61-52, beat Morrisville State College in Morrisville 79-49 on February 12th then posted a 57-54 win at SUNY Canton on February 14th. The team's six-game win total to date has surpassed the 2014-15 win total of two victories and tied the 2013-14 season victory total of six wins. Â
