Abington, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team was out battled by conference power Penn State Abington on Saturday afternoon in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action by a 2-1 margin. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 4-5-1 overall including a 3-3-1 record versus league opponents while the Nittany Lions now move to 8-1 overall with a perfect 7-0 record in conference play.
Trailing 1-0 in the first half Cobleskill tied the contest at 1-1 when senior defender
Corey Johnson, Brooklyn, N.Y., Abraham Lincoln High School, hit a perfectly placed shot to the lower left corner of the net in the 40
th minute of play.
From there both sides play strategic soccer and the contest turned into a defensive struggle until in the 67
th minute when senior forward Richard Domico, Langhorne, Pa., Neshaminy High School, scored in the box to give the Nittany Lions a 2-1 lead which turned into the final margin of victory.
The Fighting Tigers will conclude their Pennsylvania road trip on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Bryn Athyn, Pa. to meet the Lions of Bryn Athyn College in NEAC action with kick-off slated for 2:00 p.m.Â
