Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team returned to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play on Saturday afternoon falling to the visiting Wildcats of Penn College at the Soccer/Lax Complex by a 5-0 margin. The defeat ends a Fighting Tiger two-game winning streak and drops Cobleskill to 3-10 overall on the season with a 0-9 mark in league action while the Wildcats improve to 9-5-1 overall including an 8-1 mark in NEAC action.
Despite so early opportunities the Orange & Black found themselves trailing 4-0 at intermission as the Wildcats' offense dominated the action throughout the half. For the game the visitors held a 23-to-7 advantage in shots and a 5-to-2 advantage in corner-kicks.
The lone bright spot for the Fighting Tigers in the contest was freshman goalkeeper
Samantha Springstead, Staten Island, N.Y., Notre Dame Academy, who posted a game high of 13 saves on the afternoon for the home team.
Cobleskill will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they host the Eagles of the College of Saint Elizabeth in NEAC action with kick-off at 12:00 p.m. Â
