Rutland, Vt.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team closed out the road and non-conference portions of their 2016 schedule in explosive fashion as the Fighting Tigers posted a 13-0 victory over the Saints of St. Joseph's College in non-league action. The win improves Cobleskill to 5-10 overall on the year while the Saints close out the campaign at 0-12 overall.
Fighting Tiger junior forward Morgan Dick, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School, decided the issue early for the visitors scoring the team's opening three goals in the seventh, ninth and 14
th minute to stake the Orange & Black to a 3-0 lead from which they never looked back. Dick finished the contest with three goals and an assist on the afternoon.
Cobleskill also received strong offensive efforts from: freshman forward
Pamela DeVita, Stamford, N.Y., Stamford High School, with three goals, freshman midfielder
Michelle Giordano, Ossining, N.Y., Ossining High School, with a goal and four assists, sophomore midfielder
Kimberly Sullivan, Dedham, Mass., Norfolk Agricultural High School, with a goal and two assists sophomore forward
Leigha La Tourette, Downsville, N.Y., Downsville High School, with a goal and an assist and from junior defender
Elizabeth Royen, West Babylon, N.Y., West Babylon High School, with a goal and an assist on the afternoon.
In the net, freshman goalkeeper
Samantha Springstead, Staten Island, N.Y., Notre Dame Academy, recorded four saves to post her fourth shutout victory of the season.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Saturday October 22
nd when they host the Phoenix of Wilson College for a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest at Cobleskill's Soccer/Lax Complex with kick-off at 1:00 p.m.
