Marcy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team closed their 2016 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) season over the weekend winning one-of-three matches at the conference's final intra-regional play event of the year hosted by SUNY Polytechnic Institute. After the weekend's action the Fighting Tigers move to 9-17 overall including a 2-11 mark in NEAC play.
The Orange & Black opened the event by losing to The Express of Wells College 3-1 by set scores of 25-23, 14-25, 15-25 and 12-25 then to the Wolves of Keuka College 3-0 by scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 25-19. Cobleskill then closed the weekend by defeating the Wildcats of Cazenovia College 3-1 by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 23-25 and 25-14. Â
Sophomore middle hitter
Emilie Reimer, Mattituck, N.Y., Mattituck High School, led the way for Cobleskill averaging 2.37 kills and 1.1 digs per set in 11 contests while sophomore setter
Mackenzie Holbert, Sauquoit, N.Y., New Hartford High School/Herkimer Community College, averaged 4.36 assists and 2.27 digs in 11 sets played.
Cobleskill will close out the season on Tuesday October 25
