Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team closed out the home portion of their season schedule on Wednesday evening losing to the visiting Mustangs of Morrisville State College at the Iorio Gymnasium in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) match-up by a score of 64-54. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers overall record to 3-18 on the year including a 3-10 mark in NEAC play while Morrisville moves to 15-7 overall with an 11-3 conference record.
Once again a poor first half led to the Fighting Tigers trying to make a long comeback attempt as the home team trailed at the break by a 34-24 margin and never really mounted a serious challenge the rest of the evening to the Mustangs.
Junior guard
Quincey Miller, Brooklyn, N.Y., Lafayette High School/Valdosta State College, scored 16 points on the evening for Cobleskill to go with four rebounds while sophomore guard
Malik Chambers, West Point, N.Y., James I. O'Neil High School, chipped in 16 points and a pair of assists on the evening. Junior center
Derrick Quarles, Buffalo, N.Y., Bennett High School/Jamestown Community College, also turned in a solid effort off the bench for the home team contributing six points and seven rebounds in a reserve role.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday February 13
th when they travel to Lancaster, Pa. to face Lancaster Bible College in NEAC play beginning at 1:00 p.m.
