Men's Basketball Loses to Bryn Athyn 74-62 in NEAC Action

Fighting Tigers Beat Up on Glass By Lions in NEAC Loss

Cobleskill, N.Y.:  The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team found themselves on the wrong end of a 74-62 score on Saturday afternoon as the Fighting Tigers fell to the visiting Lions of Bryn Athyn College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action at the Iorio Gymnasium. The loss drops Cobleskill to 2-17 overall on the season with a 2-9 record in league play while the Lions move to 5-14 overall this season including a 5-7 conference mark.

Once again the backboards proved to be the Orange & Black's undoing as the Fighting Tigers lost the battle of the glass by a 43-to-30 margin to their opponents and the second chance points category by a tally of 15-to-3 on the afternoon.

The Fighting Tigers were once again paced by the strong all-around play of junior guard Malik Chambers, West Point, N.Y., James I. O'Neil High School, who scored 16 points, passed out five assists, grabbed four rebounds and made four steals while junior swingman Frank D'Esti, Vestal, N.Y., Vestal High School/Broome Community College, led the home team high 18 points. Junior forward Codi Gorman, Watervliet High School/Shaker High School/Hudson Valley Community College, was also a factor in the contest with 10 points and four rebounds.

Cobleskill continues their home stand on Sunday afternoon, February 7th, when they host NEAC rival Penn State Abington at 12:00 p.m. at the Iorio Gymnasium.
