Fighting Tiger Softball Swept by Cazenovia College in NEAC Play 1-0 & 15-0

Cobleskill Blanked in Both Ends of Doubleheader by Visiting Wildcats

Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team returned to action on Wednesday afternoon after having been forced into inactivity due to the recent winter-like weather conditions. The Fighting Tigers return to action however was less than stellar as the Orange & Black dropped a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contests to the Wildcats of Cazenovia College at Fighting Tiger Park by scores of 1-0 and 15-0. With the losses the Fighting Tigers fall to 0-8 overall on the campaign including a 0-4 mark in NEAC contests while the Wildcats improve to 7-7 overall including a 3-1 record in league action.

In the opener sophomore pitcher Emily Anger, Atlanta, N.Y., Wyland-Cochocton High School, was once again a hard luck loser allowing only one earned run in seven innings of work allowing only five hits while striking out two and walking only one.

In the nightcap the Wildcats raked the Fighting Tigers pitching staff for 15 runs on 15 hits as the visitors scored in all five innings played while allowing the home team only four hits in the contest.

Junior center fielder Gabriella Barilli, Bellerose, N.Y., Sacred Heart Academy, was the lone bright spot for Cobleskill going 2-for-2 in the contest with a stolen base.

The Fighting Tigers will next be on Thursday April 14th when they travel to Troy, N.Y. to face the Gators of Sage College for a non-league doubleheader with first pitch scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
