Cobleskill, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team dropped their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) to the visiting Hawks from Hilbert College by a 16-5 margin at the Soccer/Lax Complex on Saturday afternoon. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 2-5 overall on the year including a 0-1 mark in league action while the Hawks even their overall record 3-3 with a perfect 2-0 record in conference play.
The second quarter proved to be the Fighting Tigers undoing as the visitors outscored them 7-0 in the period to extend a 3-1 lead to 10-1 at the half. During the stanza the Hawks outshot Cobleskill 17-to-0 while forcing their hosts into 11 turnovers and allowing them to complete one of seven clearing opportunities.
Senior attackman
Alex Acompora, Harrison, N.Y., Harrison High School, once again played well in defeat for the Orange & Black with two goals and a pair of assists while freshman attackman Hunter Pruner, Glens Falls, N.Y., Christian Brothers Academy, also had two goals on the afternoon in the contest.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Wednesday April 6
th when they travel to Morrisville, N.Y. for a NEAC contest versus the Mustangs of Morrisville State College beginning at 1:00 p.m. Â
