Aurora, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's lacrosse team closed their 2016 campaign with a heartbreaking 11-9 loss to the Wells College Express on Saturday afternoon in NEAC action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers close the season with a 3-11 overall record including a 1-7 mark in NEAC play while the Express closes the year with a 3-11 record including a 2-6 record in conference action.
Trailing 6-2 at the half Cobleskill rallied for five unanswered third quarter goals to head into the fourth quarter leading 7-6. However seven Fighting Tiger turnovers and five failed clearing opportunities in the stanza led to the Orange & Black's downfall as Wells capitalized on the additional possessions to post the victory.

Hunter Purner, Glens Falls, N.Y., Christian Brothers High School, scored twice for the visitors as did sophomore midfielder
Kyle Magdziuk, Syracuse, N.Y., Westfield High School, who also picked up eight ground balls to go with winning 14-of-21 face-off opportunities. Senior attackman
Alex Acompora, Harrison, N.Y., Harrison High School, closed his Fighting Tiger career with a goal and three assists on the afternoon.
In the net junior goalie
John Montainiz, Lindenhurst, N.Y., Lindenhurst High School/Suffolk Community College, turned in a stellar defensive effort for Cobleskill with 19 saves and four ground balls on the day.
