Women's Soccer Falls to Alfred State 9-0 in Season Opener

Fighting Tigers Shutout 9-0 by Alfred State in Season Opener


Alfred, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team suffered a 9-0 road non-conference loss to host Alfred State College to open their 2016 season. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 0-1 to open the season while the Pioneers open the campaign at 1-0.

Trailing 2-0 at the half the Fighting Tiger defense could not contain the Pioneers in the second half allowing seven goals during the stanza. For the game Cobleskill faced 37 Alfred shots on the afternoon and trailed in corner kicks by a 12-3 margin.

The Fighting Tigers will return home on Sunday September 4th when they host the Maccabees of Yeshiva University at the Soccer/Lax Complex beginning at 1:00 p.m.
