Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team opened the home portion of their schedule in excellent fashion on Sunday afternoon as the Fighting Tigers posted an 11-0 victory over the visiting Maccabees of Yeshiva University in non-conference action. The victory improves the team's overall record to 1-1 on the year while Yeshiva now falls to 0-2 overall.
The Fighting Tigers scored early and often in the first half to secure the win as junior forward Morgan Dick, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School, scored the eventual game winner in the 3
rd minute of play then added her second goal of the contest in the 15
th minute to lead the Orange & Black to a 6-0 advantage at the break.
Cobleskill also received a four-goal second half effort from sophomore midfielder
Leigha La Tourette, Downsville, N.Y., Downsville High School, while junior midfielder
Sarah Mellor, Schenevus, N.Y., Schenevus High School, found the back of the net twice on the afternoon. Freshman midfielder
Kelsey Martin, Scotia, N.Y., Scotia-Glenville High School, also played a major role offensively in the win with a goal and a pair of assists.

Samantha Springstead, Staten Island, N.Y., Notre Dame Academy, notched her first college win with five saves in the contest with help in relief from freshman
Pamela DeVita, Stamford, N.Y., Stamford High School, who notched three second half saves.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Saturday September 10
th when they travel to Cazenovia, N.Y. for their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opener versus the Cazenovia Wildcats with kick-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
