Women's Volleyball Swept at NEAC Crossover Event at Penn State Abington

Fighting Tigers Fall to 1-6 in Conference Play After Weekend Sweep


Abington, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team suffered through a rough weekend as the Fighting Tigers dropped all three of their matches at a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) crossover event hosted by the Nittany Lions of Penn State Abington. The losses drop Cobleskill to 6-9 overall on the season including a 1-6 mark versus NEAC opponents.

On Saturday afternoon the Fighting Tigers opened the event by falling to the host Nittany Lions 3-0 by set scores of 25-6, 25-13 and 25-21. The Orange & Black then fell in their second contest of the day to the Lions of Bryn Athyn College 3-0 by scores of 25-21, 25-16 and 25-14. Then on Sunday the team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Eagles of the College of Saint Elizabeth by scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-20.

Senior libero Gabby Clark, Oneida, N.Y., Oneida High School, was stellar defensively for Cobleskill throughout the weekend averaging 3.0 digs and 0.33 kills per sets played at the event.  

The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Wednesday September 28th when they host the Pioneers of Utica College in non-league action at the Iorio Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m.
