Aurora, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team traveled west on Saturday afternoon to open their annual North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) road trip to New York's Finger Lakes Region by dropping a 59-42 decision to the Wells College Express. With the loss Cobleskill falls to 6-5 overall on the season including a 2-3 mark in NEAC play while The Express improves to 4-5 overall with a 3-2 conference record.
Trailing 25-24 at halftime the Fighting Tigers suffered through a second half offensive drought that saw them connect on only 7-of-32, 28.9%, including only 1-for-9, 11.1%, from three-point range.
Senior guard
Shiann Coons, Albany, N.Y., Bishop Maginn High School/Schenectady Community College, came off the bench to score 14 points and take down seven rebounds for Cobleskill while senior forward
Shelby Preston, Ravena, N.Y., Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, added nine points and a team high of 11 rebounds on the afternoon.
The Fighting Tigers will close out their NEAC road-trip on Sunday afternoon, January 15
th, when they travel to Keuka Park, N.Y. to meet the Wolves of Keuka College with tip-off at 12:00 p.m. Â Â Â Â Â
