Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team returned to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action on Thursday evening posting a 3-1 victory versus the Wildcats of Cazenovia College by set scores of: 25-13, 25-22, 22-25 and 25-22 at the Iorio Gymnasium to end a three game losing streak. With the win, the Fighting Tigers improve to 6-10 overall including a 1-4 conference record while Cazenovia falls to 3-18 overall with a 1-4 record in NEAC action.
The home squad dominated the action up front throughout the contest as sophomore outside hitter
Emily Potter, Fort Plain, N.Y., Fort Plain High School, turned in an exceptional effort at the net for the Orange & Black with 10 kills and 20 digs on the night while freshman middle hitter
Karyn Knaul, Central Square, N.Y., Paul V. Moore High School, contributed: six kills, five service aces, for solo blocks and three digs. Freshman middle hitter
Rachel Burke, West Winfield, N.Y., Mount Markham High School, was also a factor on the front line with 11 total blocks and eight kills Cobleskill.
In the backline, junior setter
Mackenzie Holbert, Sauquoit, N.Y., New Hartford High School, ran the offense to perfection amassing 14 assists, 13 digs and six kills to key the victory in front of a large partisan home crowd.
The Fighting Tigers will return to the court on Saturday October 14
th when they travel to Washington D. C. for a pair of NEAC matches to be hosted by Gallaudet University beginning at 1:00 p.m. when they meet the Phoenix of Wilson College followed by a 3:00 p.m. contest versus the host Bison.
