Malik Chambers, West Point, N.Y., James I. O'Neill High School, with 5.9 seconds left in regulation to lead the Fighting Tiger men's basketball team a 67-64 decision over the visiting Defenders of Clarks Summitt University on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at the Iorio Gymnasium. The Fighting Tigers will head into the Thanksgiving holidays with a 2-1 overall record while Clarks Summitt is now 1-2 overall on the year to date.
In his first action of the season Costello paced the Cobleskill attack with a game high 18 points to go with eight assists, five rebounds and two steals while Chambers added 15 points four assists and three rebounds on the evening. The Orange & Black also received strong efforts off the bench from freshman forward
Antwan Claxton, Bronx, N.Y., Taft High School, with career highs of 10 points and eight rebounds and from sophomore guard
Devin Boyle, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School, who tallied nine points on the evening.
The Fighting Tigers will next take the court on Saturday November 25
th when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. to compete in the 2017 Harold J. Bodie Tournament hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology. Cobleskill will meet Oberlin College from Ohio in the tournament's opener which will tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
