Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team suffered the worst loss of their season on Saturday afternoon at the Iorio Gymnasium dropping a 79-51 decision to the visiting Wolves of Keuka College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. The defeat drops the Fighting Tigers to 5-4 overall on the year including a 2-2 mark in NEAC play while the Wolves move to 6-1 overall with a 2-1 record in conference play.
The visitors raced out to a 52-29 half time advantage and never looked back shooting an impressive 24-of-34 shots in the first half, 70.6%, while forcing Cobleskill into 18 first half turnovers to secure the victory.
Sophomore guard
Shaliyah Graham, Bronx, N.Y., Martin Luther King Jr. High School, led Cobleskill in scoring with a game high of 16 points to go with five rebounds while freshman forward DJ Miller-Peak, Utica, N.Y., Thomas R. Proctor High School, added 11 points and seven rebounds in a reserve role. Sophomore guard
Addy Lawson, Cooperstown, N.Y., Milford High School also reached double figures in scoring with 10 points in the contest.
The Fighting Tigers will close out the semester on Saturday December 16
th when they travel to Bennington, Vt. to face the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont College in non-conference action with tip-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
