Fighting Tiger Men Drop 75-62 NEAC Road Contest at Penn State Abington

Second Half Shooting Slump Costs Cobleskill vs. Nittany Lions

Abington, Pa.: The road was once again not a pleasant place for the SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team as after leading at halftime the Fighting Tigers went cold in the second half to give the Nittany Lions of Penn State Abington a 75-62 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action on Saturday. The loss drops Cobleskill to 3-18 overall with a 3-12 mark in NEAC play while the Nittany Lions improve to 9-12 overall including an 8-8 record in conference action.

It was a tale of two halves for Cobleskill as the visitors led at the break 34-32 on the strength of a 6-for-12, 50.0%, shooting effort from beyond the three-point stripe only to be done in by a second half which saw them hit on only 9-of-33, 27.3%, shot including only 2-of-11, 18.2%, from three-point range.

Senior swingman Joel Costello, Middleburgh, N.Y., Middleburgh High School/Tompkins-Cortland Community College, continued his strong play leading both teams in scoring with 18 points to go with five rebounds while senior guard Quincey Miller, Brooklyn, N.Y., Lafayette High School/Valdosta State College, added 12 points off the bench in the loss.

Cobleskill will conclude their road trip on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Bryn Athyn, Pa. to meet the Lions of Bryn Athyn College in NEAC action with starting time scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
