Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball dropped a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contests to the visiting Mustangs of Morrisville State College by scores of 10-0 and 8-7 in eight innings at Fighting Tiger Park on Monday afternoon. With the losses the Fighting Tigers fall to 2-16 overall on the season including a 1-11 mark in conference play while the Mustangs improve to 3-17 overall with a 3-9 record in league action.
In the opener the Cobleskill offense was not a factor as the Orange & Black could only manage two hits in the game while the Mustangs road 10 runs in the middle three innings to the victory.
Sophomore designated hitter
Georgiana Crisci, Walden, N.Y., Valley Central High School, was 1-for-3 with a double while junior shortstop
Jaimee Lord, Mechanicville, N.Y. , Ballston Spa High School, was 1-for-2 in the game.
In the nightcap after eight innings, four ties and five lead changes it was the Mustangs who put the game in the win column as five Cobleskill errors lead to six unearned Morrisville runs and the eventual victory.
Georgiana Crisci continued her torrid hitting in the contest going 2-for-5 with a triple, a home run and three RBI while freshman
Lily McQuillen, Greenville, N.Y., Greenville High School, was 3-fo-3 with a run scored and a RBI. Junior third baseman
Hannah Hoffman, Troy, N.Y., Averill Park High School, Hudson Valley Community College, was also a factor at the plate for the home team going 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Tuesday, April 18, when they travel to Dallas, Pa. for a non-league doubleheader with Misericordia University beginning at 3:30 p.m.
