Cazenovia, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team closed out the road portion of their 2017 schedule on Thursday afternoon dropping a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) to the Wildcats of Cazenovia College by scores of 8-1 and 8-0. With the defeats the Fighting Tigers drop to 3-25 overall on the season with a 2-18 record in league action while the Wildcats even their overall record at 15-15 including a 13-5 record in league action.
In the opener the Fighting Tigers trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the third inning when the home team rallied for six runs to secure the victory.
The Orange & Black managed only four hits in the contest with junior shortstop
Jaimee Lord, Mechanicville, N.Y., Ballston Spa High School, going 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored.
In the nightcap Cobleskill fell behind 4-0 after the first inning and never mounted a serious threat managing only three hits in the game.
Jaimee Lord was once again a factor at the plate going 1-for-2 in the contest.
The Fighting Tigers and the Wildcats will return to action on Friday, April 28
th, this time in Cobleskill, N.Y. for a pair of league contest beginning at 3:00 p.m.
