Poultney, Vt.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team's struggles continued on Sunday as the Fighting Tigers dropped a 3-1 decision on the road to the Eagles of Green Mountain College in non-conference action. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers fall to 0-4 overall on the season while the Eagles now move to 3-1 overall on the year.
Trailing 3-0 late in the second half the Fighting Tigers scored their lone goal of the game when freshman midfielder
Caroline Wetsel, Schoharie, N.Y., Schoharie High School, intercepted a misplayed ball in the box and found the back of the Eagles net in the 80
th minute of play to cut it to 3-1.
However despite some exceptional goalkeeping on the part of sophomore
Samantha Springstead, Staten Island, N.Y., Notre Dame Academy, who recorded 13 saves on the afternoon, Cobleskill could come no closer.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Wednesday September 13
th when they travel to Union College for a non-conference match-up beginning at 7:00 p.m.
