Fighting Tiger Men's Soccer Drops 2-1 Road Decision to MCLA in 2 OT's

Cobleskill Men Beaten in Last 19 Seconds By Trailblazers in Non-Conference Action

North Adams, Mass.:  The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 double-overtime decision losing with only 19 ticks left on the clock to the host Trailblazers of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) in non-conference play on Tuesday evening. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 1-4 overall on the season while MCLA improves to 2-3 overall.

Cobleskill scored first when senior forward David Vosatka, Schenevus, N.Y., Schenevus High School, sent home a header off of a free kick from freshman defender Jacob Bunker, Broadalbin, N.Y., Broadalbin-Perth High School, in the 17th minute of play.

The Orange & Black held that advantage until the 84th minute when Trailblazer senior midfielder Oscar Castro, Middle Island, N.Y., Longwood Senior High School, scored off on a pass from senior forward Romeo Gray, Mashpee, Mass., Mashpee High School, to tie the contest at 1-1 and force overtime.

After neither team could tally in the first extra period, MCLA broke through with only 19 seconds remaining in the contest when junior midfielder Khalil Kareh, Adams, Mass., Hoosac Valley High School, would send a ball forward hoping to connect with a hard running  Romeo Grey.  Cobleskill freshman keeper Josh Mazur, Terryville, Conn., Terryville, then collided with a  teammate leaving Grey all alone with an open net opportunity which he convert to give the home team the comeback victory..

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Friday September 23rd when they travel to Newburgh, N.Y. to meet with the Blue Knights of Mount Saint Mary's College at the college's Kaplan Field beginning at 7:00 p.m.
