Bryn Athyn, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team suffered a painful overtime loss on the road at North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) rival Bryn Athyn College on Sunday afternoon by a 74-72 margin. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 4-10 overall with a 1-6 mark in NEAC play while the Lions improve to 7-8 overall on the campaign including a 4-2 league record with the win.
The Fighting Tigers staked the Lions to a 45-26 halftime advantage as 13 Cobleskill turnovers led to 22 Bryn Athyn points during the half forcing the Orange & Black to make a furious second half run that saw senior swingman
Joel Costello, Middleburgh, N.Y., Middleburgh High School/Tompkins-Cortland Community College, hit a game tying jumper at the buzzer to tie the game at 66-66 and send it into overtime.
In the extra frame Cobleskill held a three-point lead with five seconds remaining when Lion junior guard Larry Stevenson III connected on a three-pointer to tie the score at 69-69. With the game apparently headed into a second overtime Bryn Athyn junior guard Lion Rahim Washington stole the ball with two seconds left and scored at the buzzer to give the home team the victory.

Joel Costello who scored 20 points to go with five rebounds while sophomore guard
Devin Boyle, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School, celebrated his first start of the season with a 15 point, nine rebound, three assist effort. Freshman forward
Antwan Claxton, Bronx, N.Y., Taft High School, was also a factor in the comeback effort with 14 points, nine rebounds and three assists.
Cobleskill will return to action on Wednesday January 17
th when they travel to Morrisville, N.Y. to face the Mustangs of Morrisville State College for a NEAC contest with tip-off scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
