Morrisville, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team once again found the road to be a tough place to win as the Fighting Tigers found themselves on the wrong end of a 76-67 score losing to the host Mustangs of Morrisville State College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. The loss drops Cobleskill to 4-11 overall on the season including a 1-7 mark in NEAC play while the Mustangs improve to 8-7 overall with a 6-1 mark in conference action.
Once again the Fighting Tigers suffered offensively shooting a cool 25-of-74, 33.8%, from the field including 7-for-29, 24.1%, from three-point range on the evening. The visitors also once again lost the battle of the backboards by a 51-to-37 margin to the Mustangs who lead by as much as 16 points in the second half.
Senior guard
Malik Chambers, West Point, N.Y., James I. O'Neil High School, had 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists on the evening for Cobleskill while junior forward
Anthony McNeil, Gresham, S.C., Union-Endicott High School/Broome Community College, came off the bench to score 16 points and grab five rebounds. Senior center
Christian Cooper, Gilboa, N.Y., Conesville-Gilboa High School, was also a factor in the contest with 13 points, three rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Saturday January 20
th when they travel to Aurora, N.Y., to meet The Express of Wells College for a NEAC game with tip-off slated for 1:00 p.m.
