Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team posted a 3-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) home win over the visiting Eagles of The College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday afternoon at the Soccer/Lax Complex. With the victory the Fighting Tigers improve to 5-10 overall including a 2-7 record in NEAC play while the Eagles fall to 2-11 overall with a 0-9 mark versus conference opponents.
After a scoreless first half the Fighting Tigers broke the contest open when junior midfielder Nellie Ramsden, Marcellus, N.Y., Marcellus High School, scored a pair of goals in the 61
st and 75
th minutes to put the game out of reach. Sophomore
Addy Lawson, Milford, N.Y., Cooperstown High School, added an insurance goal in the 77
th minute for the Orange & Black.
Freshman goalkeeper
Korah Witherell, Portville, N.Y., Portville High School, recorded the shutout win making seven saves on the afternoon.
Cobleskill will return to action on Sunday, October 20
th, when they host the Nittany Lions of Penn State Abington in a game that due to field and potential weather conditions will be played in Oneonta, N.Y. at Oneonta State's All-College Filed with kick-off slated for 12:00 p.m.
