Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team opened the 2018-19 season dropping a close 59-60 decision to the visiting Tigers of R.I.T. in non-conference play on Saturday evening in the season opening contest for both teams. With the lost the Fighting Tigers open the campaign at 0-1 overall while the Tigers start out the year at 1-0.
The two teams battled back and forth in the first half and went into the half tied 25-25. The Tigers of R.I.T. tried to extend their lead in the second half but the Fighting Tigers continued to show heart and fought back to keep it a close game till the last whistle. Senior forward
Anthony McNeil, Gresham, S.C., Union-Endicott High School/SUNY Broome, had a chance to win it for the Fighting Tigers but came up short on a contested three-point attempt with 4 seconds left in regulation.

Antwan Claxton, Bronx, N.Y., Taft High School, put up 8 points and 4 rebounds.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Tuesday November 13
th when they travel to Albany, N.Y. to meet the Gators of Sage Colleges beginning at 7:00 p.m.
