Fighting Tigers Men's Basketball Mauls ACPHS Panthers 88-45 in Non-Conference Action

Nelson & Claxton Power Cobleskill Cagers Past Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences

Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team returned to the friendly confines of the Iorio Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon to post a one-sided 88-45 victory over the visiting Panthers of Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (ACPHS) in non-conference action. With the victory the Fighting Tigers move to 2-1 overall on the season while the Panthers fall to 1-4 on the year to date.

The Fighting Tigers mauled the visiting Panther defense throughout the contest as the double barreled attack of senior swingman Deshown Nelson, Brooklyn, N.Y., Telecommunication Arts High School/SUNY Broome, who had a game high of 23 points along with six rebounds and two assists and sophomore swingman Antwan Claxton, Bronx, N.Y., Taft High School, who scored 20 points, to go with seven rebounds and four assists proved too much for the visitors.

Cobleskill also received strong play from sophomore guard Devin Boyle, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School, with seven points, four rebounds and two assists, freshman guard Lorenzo Bicknese, Somers, N.Y., Somers High School, with eight points, four rebounds and an assists and from sophomore guard Jayquan Robinson, New York, N.Y., Fredrick Douglas Academy, with seven points, four rebounds and a steal.

The Orange & Black will return to action on Tuesday November 20th when they travel to New York, N.Y. to meet the Hawks of Hunter College at the Hunter Sportsplex at 7:00 p.m.
