Men's Basketball Returns From Break to Drop 96-66 Road Decision at SUNY Delhi

Poor First Half Costs Fighting Tigers in 96-66 loss to SUNY Delhi


Delhi, N.Y.:  The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team returned to action off the Thanksgiving Holiday on Sunday afternoon making the trip to SUNY Delhi to lose to the host Broncos by a 96-66 margin in non-conference action.  With the defeat the Fighting Tigers are now 3-2 overall on the season and with the win Delhi is now1-1 overall on the year.

The Broncos opened the game outscoring the Fighting Tigers 10-1 over the first four minutes of action then subsequently handled the visitors by a 44-20 margin the rest of the way to take a 54-21 halftime lead from which they never looked back. Delhi dominated the Cobleskill defense on the day shooting 32-for-64, 50.0%, from the field including 12-for-22, 54.4%, from three-point range to decide the issue.

Cobleskill was led in scoring by freshman guard Mike Mignone, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Roy C. Ketchum High School, who came off the bench to score 13 points and freshman guard Lorenzo Bicknese, Somers, N.Y., Somers High School, who scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds in a reserve role.  

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday December 1st when they travel to Aurora, N.Y. for their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opener versus The Express of Wells College with tip-off at 3:00 p.m.
