Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team returned to the friendly confines of the Iorio Gymnasium on Tuesday evening after nearly three weeks on the road to drop an 82-56 decision to the Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers are now 5-3 overall with a 1-1 record in NEAC play while the Wildcats improve to 4-2 overall including a 3-0 record in league action.
Cobleskill had no answers defensively for the high flying Wildcat offense that opened the game on a 9-0 run and never looked back as the visitors converted on an impressive 32-of-55 from the field, 48.5%, including 11-of-28, 39.3% from three-point range.
The Orange & Black did the majority of their damage in the paint on the evening as junior center
Stacey Sprague, Grand Gorge, N.Y., Roxbury High School, posted a double/double with 15 points and 11 rebounds on the evening while junior forward
Gabby Muraczewski, Hamilton Square, N.J., Southern Regional High School, added 15 points to go with four rebounds.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday December 8
th when they host the Eagles of Green Mountain College with tip-off scheduled for 1:00 p.m.Â
