Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team closed the 2017-18 season on Saturday afternoon with a hard fought 81-76 win over the visiting Wells College Express in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play at the Iorio Gymnasium on Senior Day. With the victory the Fighting Tigers close the season with an 8-17 overall record including 5-11 record in conference play while The Express fall to 7-18 overall on the year with a 5-11 mark in NEAC action.
On senior day it was the Fighting Tiger graduating class that did the bulk of the damage to The Express as senior guard
Malik Chambers, West Point, N.Y., James I. O'Neil High School, scored 22 points to go with three assists, senior center
Christian Cooper, Gilboa, N.Y., Gilboa-Conesville High School, tallied 18 points and grabbed five rebounds and senior swingman
Joel Costello, Middleburgh, N.Y., Middleburgh High School/Tompkins-Cortland Community College, chipped in 13 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Orange & Black.
Cobleskill also received an 18 point, four assist, three rebound effort from sophomore
Devin Boyle, Johnstown, N.Y., Johnstown High School, as the Fighting Tigers doubled their 2016-17 win total under the direction of second-year head coach
