In the opener the Nittany Lions flexed their offensive and pitching muscles scoring the first 13 runs of the contest to decide the issue capitalizing on 10 hits and 12 walks by Fighting Tiger pitchers.

Fighting Tiger junior first baseman Nate Carinci, Oneida, N.Y., Oneida High School/Jefferson Community College, was 2-for-3 for the visitors with a double and the teams only run scored in the fifth inning on a bases loaded walk by freshman second baseman Zyere Molinaro, Summit, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School.
