Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team closed their weekend homestand on Sunday afternoon at Fighting Tiger Field dropping a doubleheader to the Wolves of Keuka College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play by scores of 9-0 and 11-0. With the losses the Fighting Tigers are now 2-23 overall on the year with a 1-9 record in league action while the Wolves now move to 15-12 overall with an 8-3 conference mark.
In the first game after a scoreless first three inning the Fighting Tiger suffered a series of defensive miscues, Cobleskill committed seven errors in the game, which allowed the Wolves to jump out to a score five runs in the fourth and fifth inning to put the game away for the visitors.
Cobleskill managed only two singles in the game as freshman shortstop Eddie Garcia, Bronx, N.Y., Word View High School, went 1-for-3 and sophomore designated hitter
Kyle Howard, Olean, N.Y., Porterville High School, went 1-for-2 for the Orange & Black.
In the second game the Wolves struck for seven first inning runs to decide the contest which was called due to weather after five innings.
Once again the home team could manage two singles in the contest as junior third baseman
Lucas Butcher, Bainbridge, N.Y., Bainbridge-Guilford High School, who was 1-for-2 with a stolen base and freshman designated hitter
Hariel Mangual, Monticello, N.Y., Monticello High School, who was 1-for-2 were the only two Cobleskill batters to reach base.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Thursday May 3
rd when they travel to Aurora, N.Y. for a pair of NEAC games versus Wells College beginning at 12:00 p.m.
