Schenectady, N.Y.: Due to the recent severe weather that hit the region on Tuesday, the SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team saw their non-league home game against the Dutchmen of Union College moved to the turf at Union's Frank Bailey Field as their own home Soccer/Lacrosse Complex was severely waterlogged.
The short road trip proved an unpleasant one for the Orange & Black as the Dutchmen erupted for the first five goals of the contest to run out to a 5-1 halftime lead which they held on to for the rest of the way for the victory. With the loss the Fighting Tigers are now 2-5 overall while the Dutchmen are now 2-4 overall the season.
Once again the Cobleskill offense was outshot in the contest by a 27-to-8 margin on the evening.
The team's lone bright spot on the evening came in the 38
th minute of play when freshman forward
Chris Gardener, Hudson, N.Y. , Hudson HS, took a pass from freshman midfielder
Khadim Kane, Harlem, N.Y., Forsyth Satellite Academy, in the box and found the back of the net.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action over the weekend when they travel to Keuka Park, N.Y. on Saturday September 22
nd for a NEAC meeting with the host Wolves of Keuka College at 3:00 p.m. followed by a trip on Sunday September 23
