Williamstown, Pa.: Senior forward
Patrick McGovern, Congleton, England, Congleton, scored three first half goals as the SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team open weekend road trip on Saturday by blitzing the host Wildcats of Penn College by a score of 5-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. With their second consecutive shutout league victory, the Fighting Tigers are now to 4-6 overall with a 2-1 mark in NEAC action while the Wildcats are now 2-5 overall including a 2-1 record versus NEAC opponents.
The Fighting Tigers also received offensive contributions from junior forward
Khadim Diba, Manhattan, N.Y., Julia Richmond High School, with a goal and an assist and from junior forward
Emile Vwaza, Manhattan, N.Y., Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School, who added a first half goal to the team's victory totals.
Freshman goalie Josh Masur, Terryville, Conn., Terryville High School, was once again the beneficiary of an excellent defensive effort by the Orange & Black recording his second consecutive shutout win without needing to make a single save.
Cobleskill will conclude the weekend on Sunday when they travel to Reading, Pa. for a league meeting with the Nittany Lions of Penn State Berks beginning at 2:00 p.m.
