Washington, D.C.: In a game moved to Friday afternoon due to the potential of inclement weather conditions over the weekend in the nation's capital, the SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team lost to the host Bison of Gallaudet University by a 73-65 margin in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers move to 7-5 overall with a 1-3 record in NEAC action while the Bison even their record at 7-7 overall including a 4-1 mark in conference play.
The Bison turned 18 Fighting Tiger turnovers into 20 points which proved to be the difference in the game. The visitors also struggled at the free throw line converting on only 19-of-32, 59.4%, of their opportunities while Gallaudet hit on 21-of-26, 80.8%, for their free throw opportunities.
Once again junior guard
Addy Lawson, Milford, N.Y., Milford High School, turned in a strong effort in defeat with her second straight double/double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and five assists while junior center
Gabby Muraczewski, Hamilton Square, N.J., Southern Regional High School, chipped in 14 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots on the afternoon.
Cobleskill will next travel to Lancaster, Pa. on Saturday January 12
th to meet the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College in NEAC play beginning at 1:00 p.m.
