Cobleskill, N.Y.: Trailing 2-0 in the 76th minute of action, the SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team staged a furious comeback effort to defeat the visiting Soaring Eagles of Elmira College 3-2 in non-league action on Wednesday afternoon. The Fighting Tiger comeback started in the when freshman midfielder Julia Howard, Elizaville, N.Y., Germantown High School, connected off a deflection in the box from 12-yards away to make it 2-1. The home team then tied the contest in the 78th minute when sophomore forward Chloe Antalek, Wappingers Falls, N.Y., Beacon High School, blasted home a direct kick from 22-yards out to tie the contest at 2-2.

Then in the 83rd minute of action, Cobleskill sophomore midfielder Rebecca Bruno, Middleburgh, N.Y., Middleburgh High School, out battled the Soaring Eagle goalkeeper for a ball at the top of the box and delivered a perfect thru ball weakside to freshman midfielder Anna Post, Bovina Center, N.Y., Delaware Academy, who powered it into the back of the Elmira net to give the Fighting Tigers the lead, and eventually the win, over their opponents from the Empire 8 Conference at 3-2.

The issue was finally decided with 22 seconds left in regulation when sophomore goalkeeper Abigail Wetsel, Schoharie, N.Y., Schoharie High School, punched away a Soaring Eagle direct kick from 25-yards out and smothered the loose ball among a scrum of players to secure the victory. On the afternoon the sophomore goalkeeper recorded 12 saves for the home team in the win.
