Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team ended a four game losing streak on Tuesday evening by defeating the visiting Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton College in non-league action by a score of 91-80 at the Iorio Gymnasium. With the win the Fighting Tigers improve to 2-4 overall on the season while the Bobcats are now 4-6 on the season to date.
Cobleskill flexed their inside muscle throughout the contest winning the battle of the boards by an impressive 66-to-34 over the Bobcats while using their size advantage to get to the free throw line 43 times on the night converting on 33, 76.7%, to secure the victory.
Freshman guard
Nylasia Sutton, Queens, N.Y., Lansingburgh High School/Herkimer Community College, scored a team high of 21 points to go with four assists to lead the Fighting Tigers while freshman center/forward
Jordan Finch, East Meredith, N.Y., South Kortright High School, controlled the paint with 17 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots on the evening.
The Orange & Black also received strong outings from senior guard
Erica Cabrera, Middletown, N.Y., Burke Catholic High School, with 11 points, three assists and five rebounds and from freshman forward
Megan Hughes, Warrensburg, N.Y., Warrensburg High School, who had a season high of 16 points to go with six rebounds.
Cobleskill will return to action on Monday December 2
nd when they host the Broncos of SUNY Delhi for a non-league contest at the Iorio Gymnasium with tip-off at 5:00 p.m.
