Men's Soccer Loses to Lancaster Bible College 2-0 in NEAC Tourament First Round

Slow Start Dooms Fighting Tigers in 2-0 Loss to LBC Chargers in NEAC Tourney

Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team could not overcome a pair of early first half goals in a 2-0 home loss to the visiting Chargers of Lancaster Bible College in the opening round of the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship Tournament. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 9-6-4 on the season while the Chargers move on to the NEAC Semifinals to be hosted by Penn State Harrisburg in Harrisburg, Pa. over the weekend with a 14-4-2 overall mark.

The Chargers struck quickly in the fourth minute when junior forward Rama Mugisha, Littz, Pa., Littz Christian High School, took a thru ball deep in the box from sophomore forward Kedric Yoder, Dover, Del., Calvary Christian High School, and blasted it home for what would be the eventual game winner.

Lancaster would then score in the sixth minute when sophomore midfielder Nathan Muckle, Madrid Spain, Evangelical Christian High School, would blast a shot home off of a deflection from 12 yards away to make it 2-0 and give the Chargers a lead that they would never look back from.

Cobleskill goalie Garrett Maxwell, Enfield, Conn., Suffield High School, would record six saves on the afternoon for the home team in the match.

The Fighting Tigers will now wait for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) to announce the tournament bids and seedings for the 2019 ECAC Men's Division III Championship Tournament to be announced on Monday November 11th.
