Marcy, N.Y.: With the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play-offs looming on the horizon the SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team made their last regular season road trip of the season on Wednesday dropping a 74-61 decision to the host Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute in conference action. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers move to 15-9 overall on the year with a 10-5 record in conference action while the Wildcats are now 12-12 overall including a 9-6 record in NEAC play.
Trailing 36-33 at halftime the Fighting Tigers were held to only 28 points in the second half by the Wildcats as Cobleskill could connect on 24-of-68, 35.3%, on the evening including only 4-of-21, 19.0%, from three-point range.
Sophomore swingman
Antwan Claxton, Bronx, N.Y., Taft High School, posted a double/double with 18 points and 10 rebounds along with three assists on the night while senior swingman
Dashown Nelson, Brooklyn, N.Y., High School of Communication Arts & Technology, added 15 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
Cobleskill will conclude the regular season on Saturday February 16
th when they host the Wildcats from Cazenovia College in NEAC action with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
