Keuka Park, N.Y.: In an NBA-like scheduling situation the SUNY Cobleskill and Keuka College women's basketball teams met for the second time in four days on Wednesday night in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action with the host Wolves winning once again this time by a score of 49-36. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 11-10 overall including a 5-7 mark in NEAC play while the Wolves improve to 16-4 overall with an 11-1 record versus league opponents.
The host Wolves led 19-5 at the end of the first quarter using a 16-to-1 to take control of the contest even the Fighting Tigers would battle back on several occasions to trim the lead to seven points but could never get any closer as the Keuka defense held the Orange & Black to 13-of-54, 24.1%, from the floor including only 2-of-9, 22.2%, from three-point range in the low scoring affair.
Junior guard
Addy Lawson, Milford, N.Y., Milford High School, once again led the Fighting Tigers in scoring with 11 points to go with seven rebounds and two assists on the evening while junior center
Stacey Sprague, Grand Gorge, N.Y., Roxbury High School, came off the bench to score nine points and grab a game high nine rebounds.
Cobleskill will return to action over the weekend when the host a pair of NEAC contests hosting the College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday February 9
th at 1:00 p.m. followed by a 12:00 p.m. conference meeting with the Nittany Lions of Penn State Abington on Sunday February 10
th.
